German Business Immigration

Build your business in Germany with a clear immigration strategy.

Applying for residence as an entrepreneur requires more than registering a company. Your business concept, financing, founder profile and economic case must work together.

Jaberi Lawyers helps international founders and investors prepare a coherent application under §21 of the German Residence Act.

Planning to establish or invest in a business in Germany?

Germany offers a residence route for qualifying non-EU entrepreneurs whose proposed activity demonstrates a credible economic case, appropriate financing and a realistic plan for implementation.

The strength of an application depends on how the complete venture is presented, not on one document or investment figure alone.

Common questions

Business immigration to Germany.

General information only. Your route depends on your individual circumstances.

German law does not set one universal minimum investment amount for every §21 application. Financing must be sufficient for the proposed concept, and the application is assessed as a whole.
No. Company ownership or formation alone does not establish a right of residence. The authorities assess the proposed activity and the applicable legal requirements.
A credible business plan is generally central to demonstrating the viability, financing and expected economic effect of the proposed activity.
That depends on your nationality, current status and the route available. The correct place and procedure for filing should be assessed before you proceed.
Qualifying spouses and children may be able to apply for family reunification, subject to the applicable requirements and individual facts.
In qualifying self-employment cases, a settlement permit may be possible after three years if the statutory requirements are met. It is not automatic.
Processing times vary by German mission, immigration authority, location, document readiness and case complexity. A case-specific estimate follows an assessment.
